While hiking along the ice-covered Yellowstone River, I came upon a decently sized stretch of open, moving water. That’s when I noticed a Bald Eagle perched in a tree on the opposite side of the river, overlooking the current for food.
I carefully made my way along the bank to get as close as I could without disturbing it. I was able to get somewhat close even though I was on the other side of the river and captured this photo.
