While out on an eventful hike full of some amazing photographs, including turkeys and deer, I also found myself sitting with this beautiful Downy Woodpecker in the warm sunlight on a cold day. I was able to watch the woodpecker sit in the tree for a few minutes before it moved to another one. I captured quite a few beautiful photos, and this one shows it sitting in the sunlight, looking back at me.
