While on the water’s edge of one of my favorite local lakes photographing red-winged blackbirds and yellow-headed blackbirds, I looked down and noticed this milkweed. Unblossomed and unlike the surrounding plants, I already found it quite unique, and on closer inspection, I discovered it was covered in strands of spiderweb, with even a couple of caught bugs waiting to be eaten.
