While at a Montana lake, I looked over toward a cliffside and spotted this Hoary Marmot sitting on the edge. I grabbed my camera and slowly made my way closer to get a better look and capture a few photos. As I watched, I realized there was an entire family of marmots scattered across the rocks. I spent quite a while photographing them and was able to capture many beautiful images. They were fascinating to watch, and I'm really happy with how the photos turned out. This photo captures one of the parents perched on a rocky outcropping, looking off to its left.
