While at a Montana lake, I looked over toward a cliffside and spotted this Hoary Marmot sitting on the edge. I grabbed my camera and slowly made my way closer to get a better look and capture a few photos. As I watched, I realized there was an entire family of marmots scattered across the rocks. I spent some time photographing them and was able to capture many beautiful images. They were fun to watch, and I’m really happy with how the photos turned out. I was quite surprised to see how close they lived to the cliff’s edge. For a moment, I even wondered if they might fall into the lake, but they seemed completely at ease, moving confidently along the rocks.
